Hello Harold,  One of my references lists 7 Cuendets (pronounced
"Quen-day") in various combinations, all musical box makers.

I'm not aware of ever having seen the manufacturer's name inscribed
on the bass lead of any musical box.  Usually it is the gamme number.
Not having a Cuendet box, nor having seen one with the comb removed
where I could examine it, I can offer no opinion as to whether this
is or is not a common situation with Cuendet boxes.

I may be showing my ignorance here and blundering into a situations
where everybody else knows the answer.  Are there any further ideas
out there?
