In regard to donating musical items to museums, I am not in favor of
doing this.  Once in a museum, the items are lost.  A few persons will
see the items and usually the items deteriorate.  However, if sold to
the public, the items are usually kept up in good shape and when a
person's time is up, the items are resold, resold, and resold as time
goes by.
