Lindner Pianos were the most advanced and innovative pianos for
a hundred years.  They were light, durable, cheap, of a good tone
and conventional touch.  Levelling of the keys was a minute's job.
Lost motion was cured in minutes.  The plastic action was trouble-free,
with all sections (except the dampers and hammers) interchangeable.
Action regulation otherwise was conventional.

However, as noted, the big drawback was the keys.  These were supplied
in kit form, and to replace any key you just needed the relevant
fore-part which hinged in the middle to a standard rear part.  Having
aligned the key, it was then glued to the correct angle.  A fantastic
idea...  Unfortunately, the firm went bust so no parts were available.

The main problem is the breakage of the leaf spring in the balance part
of the key.  To cure this, take the blade of a junior hacksaw blade,
flatten it and cut to length.  Job done!
