Serinette in New England
By Francoise Dussour

It is not surprising to find English tunes playing in serinettes or
barrel organs from Mirecourt in east of France (Lorraine). Many
organ-makers sent these little organs to foreign countries, especially
Holland, England and U.S.A., the Indies and other Far East countries.

For example, a very well-known organ maker named Nicolas Antoine Lete
(beginning of the XIXth century) was for 5 years long in America;
he worked, built and made American tunes for little barrel organs.
He was also in Cuba.

I need a picture to give you more information (instrument open,
please).

With the best regards from
Francoise Dussour
