Band Organs at Great Circus Parade, Milwaukee, WI
By Gregory Filardo

If anyone out there is interested in seeing a truly great turn of
the century show (20th century, that is), this is it! The parade on
Sunday, July 13, is great, but the real show starts Tuesday, July 8,
at the lakefront.

About 100 of the best carved circus wagons are set up on one of the
most beautiful settings on earth: the lake immediately on the east
and a park on the west, with the city backdrop following. Not only is
there a 3-ring circus, a midway, and many exhibits, but you can also
hear six or eight band organs playing at various places along the
midway, and also hear a steam calliope.

The best part: no phony plastic and 21st century junk (except for
present day food) and -- it is free! Amazingly, it is not crowded.
What a great place to see the wagons, the moon rise over the lake,
a gentle cool breeze off the lake and the sound of the band organs
at twilight.

Any questions? Please email me, gkfilardo@yahoo.com The show grounds
are open through Saturday, July 12.
