About a month ago an unbelievable item appeared on eBay:
"Organocleide" was the word, fellow MMD-ers, and if that doesn't
stir your blood nothing will.  An enormous bureau with many, many
huge cylinders, and it was listed at a very low price.  The location
was given as Malaysia.  A few days later it vanished.  I guess it
was a scam that was exposed.

We're kind of isolated here in New Zealand, and eBay offers great
browsing opportunities.  It's frustrating to see "Will ship to USA
only", and even my use of a USA shipper couldn't prevent a recent
advertiser from canceling my bid.  eBay will only live up to its
self-styling as "The World's Marketplace" when it is truly available
to all of us.  And it needs efficient security procedures.
