Politically Incorrect Piano Rolls
By Eliyahu Shahar

On the subject of politically incorrect music rolls, a friend of mine
recently bought a small Kalliope disc musical box with bells because
of one of the discs that came with the box has the title: "Hast du
die kleine Cohn gesehen?" ["Have you seen little Cohn?"]

The Israeli holocaust museum is interested in this subject as it
apparently has early anti-Semitic sentiments. A chance acquaintance of
a holocaust survivor gave him the verification that the song was indeed
a popular anti-Semitic song, but neither he, nor I, nor the Israeli
holocaust museum has turned up the lyrics and/or sheet music for this
song.

I tried to do a search on the regular search sites but received
millions of matches and none of them complete enough to be of any use.
I also tried the historical sheet music sites that I know of, but they
only relate to U.S. songs.

I would appreciate any help that anyone out there can give in this
unusual bit of (anti-) Judaic musical history.

regards,

Eliyahu Shahar
