Pianist Pauline Alpert
By D. L. Bullock

I had always been told that when Pauline Alpert recorded her rolls,
she was asked to leave out some notes because people would not believe
she was one person playing the roll.

I am fascinated to learn from Douglas Henderson that Pauline Alpert was
just a pseudonym of Frank Milne. It is amazing what you learn here on
this group. I wonder what I am to do with the CD I have of her radio
performances, with her picture prominently displayed.

Also, I wonder who that lovely old hunchback lady at the AMICA
convention was who walked out to the concert grand using two canes
and sat down to play what sounded exactly like those rolls and radio
performances of Pauline Alpert... er, ah... make that Frank Milne in
drag.
