I am sending a short note to let the readers know that I have been
letting Warren Trachtman, here in Virginia, borrow a number of my rolls
for his scanning project.  He has mainly been interested in the older
rolls so I have let him scan a Mae Brown roll of ragtime songs, some
early ragtime rolls and regular 88-note rolls of classical pieces on
paper that is definitely showing signs of aging.

In some cases he has transferred a few reissues.  When he plays them
back with his sound font they sound really exciting.  This is a wonderful
project and an excellent way of preserving the music we love for
generations who follow.
