Mechanical Music in South-West England
By Harald Mueller

Hi -- we will spend the last three weeks of August near Wells,
Somerset, UK. Any hints and advice what could be interesting in
the area of

* band organs (museums, fairs), maybe even a carousel; and other
mechanical music - but only if it really plays! - with 3 children,
this is the only fun! And, while I'm asking,

* steam railroads and maybe even railroad signalling equipment
(Is Swindon worth a visit?)

Of course, we plan to visit the Great Dorset Steam Fair -- even though
we expect to get stuck in the mud, have to walk three miles with three
children, will see only smoke, steam, and rain, and, if very lucky,
hear an organ from a mile distant or so. ;-) ... At least, that is
what I gathered from the descriptions and advice on MMD a few days ago!

Many thanks & best regards

Harald M. Mueller
