Kieselhorst Department Store of St. Louis MO
By Julian Dyer

Prompted by Donald H. Kieselhorst's note in MMD 030803, I've done
a little more looking for Henry A. Kieselhorst, the original owner of
my John McTammany book.

Looking on http://www.familysearch.org/ for 'Kieselhorst' I find
reference to Henry A. Kieselhorst of St. Louis, MO, born 11 March 1882,
to parents John A. Kieselhorst & Emma Adele Homeyer. He married Lottie
Rinehardt in June 1919. This just has to be the owner of the book!

The same submission to the family search archives also lists Edwin A.
Kieselhorst, born 7 Dec 1874 in St. Louis, MO, elder brother to Henry
and grandfather to Donald. All his details match those in Donald's
MMD note.

The 1880 US census lists John Kieselhorst's occupation as "Piano
Store", so this really was a family business over several generations.

So, who knows why Henry Kieselhorst's name was missed from this take
on the family history? It seems quite likely that he was at some point
involved with the eponymous piano company, but maybe he moved on to
other things or was involved in a different company but still in the
piano trade. It would be interesting to find out a bit more -- are there
any more family archives that might help?
