"Das Eichhoernchen" is "Het Eekhoorntje"
By Hans van Oost

I would like to congratulate Kevin Sheehan with his new street organ
(030812 MMDigest). During the building we had some contact about
the type he wanted, and obviously the organ is a success!

I am wondering, however, why the organ received a German name.
Eichhoernchen is a German name and _not_ a Dutch name; in that case
it would have to be called "het eekhoorntje" (the little squirrel)
and it would be pronounced as ake-hoarntjah. Please note that:

1. Deutschland is the German word for Germany; the inhabitants
are called Germans (Deutscher);

2. Nederland (neigh-dah-lahnd) is the Dutch word for the Netherlands;
the inhabitants are called Dutchmen (Nederlanders)!

In other words, I would kindly suggest to call this organ
"HET EEKHOORNTJE".

Best regards from the Netherlands,

Hans van Oost (a Dutchman)
