Andy, when you put the pointer on a link you want to save, hold the
mouse button down (instead of clicking) and a window should pop up with
several selections.  You may have to move the mouse down a bit while
holding the button before the pop-up appears.  Pull the highlight to
"download link to disk" and release the mouse button.  A window should
open asking where you want to save it.
