Finishing Wood Organ Pipes
By Dave McPeak

When I was in the organ biz, at Aeolian-Skinner, they used orange
shellac 4-pound cut which has been available in most hardware stores.
Newer firms have used clear shellac. Aeolian-Skinner used orange
shellac on all wooden surfaces unless the wood was a hardwood, as
in the console shells.

You can also check the archives of the Piporg-L mailing list, as
I know there is a lot of info on pipe cleaning of all types.

Cheers,
Mack
