I would like to add my own chapter to the National Automatic Music Co.
history.  As a mechanical engineer, I interviewed for a job about 1979
with what was then Rowe-AMI, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  At that time,
the brick factory-looking building, as I recall, still had "Automatic
Music Instrument Co," on the outside in faded white paint.

They were interested in having me design AMI jukeboxes and dollar bill
changers.  The job looked interesting but the salary and benefits were
pretty skimpy.  Also, when we discussed the possibility of covering my
moving expenses, their representative told me that they would not be
able to cover the cost of moving my two grand players and one upright
player piano.  Obviously he did not acknowledge or support the part of
my household goods that had similar origins to that of his company!
