Post-WW2 Reproducing Rolls
By Dean Howe

I wonder if there is a complete listing of all the 'new' reproducing
piano rolls made in the 1970's. I have many of the Ampico which I
bought new back then, but now I have a Duo-Art and wonder what I am
missing. I also have the three Welte rolls I know of, done by Ken
Caswell for Powell: "Rhapsody in Blue" from Duo-Art, "April in Paris"
and "Star Dust" from Ampico, and "Try to Remember", "Days of Wine and
Roses", "Wichita Lineman" from QRS.

I would like to see a complete list for all three makers like Robbie
started for Ampico. These rolls are not listed in the three major
catalogues and I wonder what I am missing. Can we figure a way to
compile a list, and also a list of Ray Siou's Duo-Art and Ampico
multiple selections, as well as the ones Powell and Adams issued?
These rolls come up for sale now and I do not know what is available.

[ Dean and Andy Raymond later sent me lists of the post-WW2 Ampico
[ and Duo-Art rolls in their collections; I'll try to get a rough
[ version of all the data posted at the MMD Media site this week.
