Repairing Gem Roller Organ
By Craig Smith

In 031001 MMDigest, Larry Wilson asked about repairing a Gem Roller
Organ. Well, Larry, I have the answer to your problems and your
prayers.

Go to Todd Augsburger's web page (www.rollerorgans.com) and buy a copy
of his book: Roller Organs - The Autophone Company's "Ingenious
Mechanism".

In it you will learn all about cob organs and the company that made
them. And you will also find a section on how to repair them. Great
book and a great value to boot. He even has new valve seals and some
other goodies for sale.

Take your time while working on the organ. They look pretty simple
but, like barrel organs and other mechanical musical instruments,
they are a lot more complicated and precisely built than they appear.
If you still have questions, give me a call or an e-mail.

Regards,
Craig Smith
