I have purchased steel from Metal Express (www.metalexpress.net).
They have a catalog that lists quite an array of metals.  They will cut
to any length that you want.  They seem to have more different sizes of
metals on-hand than they list in the catalog.   I was very pleased with
the service that I got from the Baltimore, MD, store.
