Marking Pneumatics Before Disassembly
By Bruce Clark

Marking pneumatics can be done in numerous ways, by using masking tape
and marking pen, marking pen on the boards, or by using metal dies that
are hammered to emboss the wood.

One of the best ways for a beginner is to number and remove every other
pneumatic, thus making it quite obvious for the exact positioning and
alignment after they are recovered and glued to the deck board. Once
the first group is glued in place, remove the second group of every
other pneumatic, leaving the newly glued pneumatics as a guide for the
second group to be glued on the decks.

This method helps to prevent errors, and was taught to me by a former
old-timer who once worked for Ampico.
