Shipping Piano Rolls by USPS Media Mail
By Spencer Chase

Greetings, Just a little warning about a little known fact regarding
USPS Media Mail. I discovered this the hard way.

Media Mail service does not include forwarding or return as does
Priority Mail service. No big deal unless you send a package to a
slightly "unknown" address. Then you will end up paying three times
to finally get it there.

I sent a package to a street address (the rolls had been sent to me
via UPS for scanning) where there was no street delivery by the post
office. In the small town, they knew well what the PO box of the
recipient was but they returned it "postage due" instead. It ended
up costing about $100 to finally get the box there and I had to go to
the post office to pick it up, which is a two-hour drive to a town that
I never have any business in even, though I mailed it from the town
I go to once a week.

Priority mail would have been returned for free and maybe even
forwarded.

Best regards,
Spencer Chase
