The US Historic Consumer Price Index from 1800-1998 may be found
on the University of Michigan's web site, at
  http://www.lib.umich.edu/govdocs/historiccpi.html

Or, 1913 to present Consumer Price Index may be found at
  ftp://ftp.bls.gov/pub/special.requests/cpi/cpiai.txt

So a 1912 US dollar would roughly relate to $18.70 in mid-2003,
meaning a $10.00 music roll would relate to a whopping $187.00
in today's economy!

Of course, Roller Organ rollers (cobs) were selling for a mere
$.12 then, or $2.25 in today's dollars. A much better deal! <grin>
