Improving Playback of MP3 Compressed Audio

Depending on the class of MP3-compression (128 kbps sampling rates and
above are known as CD-quality), you have to bear in mind that some sort
of psycho-acoustic tricks are used for reducing file size, and therefore
you will loose something when re-converting in order to apply sound
improvement techniques (if possible) like noise- or hiss-reduction,
pop-elimination, or even advanced methods like FFT filtering and so on.
