Identity of QRS 100465 played by Max Kortlander
By Bob Pinsker

Hi, all! The indispensable Billings Rollography lists all of the QRS
word rolls, starting with 100 (Pretty Baby, played by Charley Straight)
up to something like 1994. Is there a listing of the QRS instrumental
rolls, presumably starting with 100000? (Or is it 100100?)

The immediate motivation for asking is that I've scanned a roll this
afternoon that is missing its leader, up to almost the signature of
Max Kortlander. It's almost certainly QRS 100465, as that number is
written in pencil on the end of the roll where it's glued to the core.

It's a one-step, arranged at 10 perforator rows per quarter note at
the standard QRS advance of 20 perforator rows per inch, or 240 rows
per foot. It's in the key of E-flat. A MIDI file is attached.

Can anyone identify the tune? More generally, is there a list anywhere
out there of the QRS instrumental rolls in that series? Thanks!

Best regards,
Bob Pinsker
