Merry-Go-Round and Carousel Rotation
By Gordon Forcier

The terms "merry-go-round" and "carousel" are the same, and the
rotation is the same: counter-clockwise. A "roundabout", on the
other hand, is clockwise. A roundabout is a European style carousel
or merry-go-round, if you will.

I know these for a fact since I grew up in the carnival industry and
always was fascinated by the carousels in this country, let alone
band organs. I hope this clears the matter up.

Mechanically yours,
Gordon Forcier
