Water vortex in South America.
When I was in Arica, Chile, and again on the equator, I tried testing
the impression I'd gotten that water whorled different directions from
the northern hemisphere. It seemed to depend more on the plumbing
structure, as has already been pointed out. My own toilets and sinks
go counter-clockwise -- like American carousels. In South America,
I felt lucky if they flushed at all. So it wasn't the greatest of
scientific experiments.
