Sealing Kangaroo Leather

Hi,  I just received some skins of kangaroo pouch leather about
0.005 inches thick.  Holding the skin up to light I notice
a number of pinholes and some areas where light dimly shines
through.  Is this normal?  Can the areas of porosity be sealed
or should I return this lot?
