Sanding Belt Failure

I bought some "cheap" belts at Harbor Freight a while back and haven't
had any problems with them breaking.  Actually quite the opposite: the
seam is a bit thick so the belt goes "bump, bump" whenever I sand
something.  Other than that they work well.

I think hide glue probably would not work well as it dries to a hard
consistency without much flexibility or give.  You might try contact
cement or perhaps buy the "better" belts to begin with :-)
