"Aristoflute" Ariston Flute Music Box
By Ingmar Krause

Hello there!

>> "Made in Germany (Ehrlich), like the Ariston and the Orpheus.
>> The model is presented without its box. Early 20th century.
>> Size: 23.6 x 27.5 x 17.7 inches."

While not having seen this particular model in real life, yes,
I do know about it. It indeed has been built by Ehrlich and as far
as I know, just as on the picture, there simply is no box! As far as
details go: there are not very many out there, as not very many have
been built in the first place.

There have been other models but I'm not sure who built them. One
of them was like a standing clock or like a narrow wardrobe; it used
much bigger pipes than this one, but on very low airflow, thus very,
very quiet. There also have been converted harmoniums with Ariston
discs at the side.

If you are interested in an Aristoflute, my friend in Austria is
building new ones. The web page is
http://www.drehorgel.at/Drehorgeln_neu3.htm but unfortunately only
in German(!). The pictures speak for themselves, though. You
can contact them at info@drehorgel.at.geentroep [delete ".geentroep"
to send]. They do speak English.

Hope that helps!

greetings by(e) InK - Ingmar Krause
