Label for Piano Shaped Musical Box
By Craig Smith

Hi, I just finished a restoration job on a small piano shaped music
box. The case is about 6" wide and 8" front to back and 3" high.
It's made from burled walnut. It has a simple 2-tune musical movement
inside that is activated by the lid opening. I'm sending a picture
to Robbie for the Archives so you can help me with a little quandary.

Besides the usual compartments for the musical movement and trinkets,
there is a small depression (about 1/4" by 1-3/8") inside the top,
rounded on the ends. I suspect that it held some small label. There
is a remnant of a piece of cardboard in the depression. Would any of
you have seen something like this? If so, can you tell me what actually
belongs in the depression?

I'd like to replace the missing ?label? or whatever as a surprise to
the owner when I ship it back in a few days.

Thanks for your help.
