Coffee Table Books & The AMICA Bulletin
By Ed Chaban

While agree that having a printed AMICA Bulletin makes it easier to
show to guests, I think pulling out Q. David Bowers' "Encyclopedia" or
Art Reblitz' "Golden Age of Mechanical Musical Instruments" is a better
way to convey what the hobby is all about. Harvey Roehl's books, of
course, are the "granddaddys" of them all.

The AMICA Bulletin focuses on some of the more esoteric aspects of
the hobby, and rightly so. If your guest is interested enough by the
content of the Bulletin, they are likely fairly knowledgeable about
mechanical music already. I don't think the Bulletin is intended to be
any kind of "introduction" nor should it be. There are plenty of other
sources.
