Hi,  My hot glue pot has a short circuit that shorts the power to
the ground when I apply voltage.  I still use it, but I found a much
simpler device that's also perfect for use: an electric fondue pot,
thermostatically controlled, and the advantage is that I can either use
it with water and a small bottle for small amounts, or directly inside
the pot for larger amounts.  The temperature hysteresis loop is ± 5
degrees, which I consider to be sufficient.

For quick 'down and dirty' jobs, I simply boil water in the kettle and
pour it into a small bowl, then place a Gerber's baby food jar filled
with hot glue inside.  I wait until the glue has melted, replace the
water with new hot water, and I'm ready to work.  This is good if
I don't have an electric outlet where I'm working and am only gluing
a couple of pieces.
