Paper Deacidification
By D. L. Bullock

I found this web site for archival mist for neutralizing acid in paper:
  http://www.webyfl.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=42

I wonder if this would work on rolls.

There is also acid neutralizing wipes for your hands when you touch
archive papers:

Here is a search URL for items to deacidify paper, leather, etc.:

  http://search.netscape.com/ns/search?query=deacidification

Library of congress has done mass deacidification projects:

 [
[ In the early 1990's, the Library of Congress tested the four
[ leading mass deacidification processes. They were the Library's
[ own Diethyl Zinc [or "DEZ"], a vapor-phase process (later
[ abandoned) and three liquid based methods. Of the latter three,
[ Bookkeeper(R) (Kundrot, 1985) scored highest in the Library of
[ Congress's assessment (Buchanan, 1994). A recent review of these
[ methods and others in early stages of development is found in the
 [ literature (Porck, 1996).

[ The paper by Porck is presented on-line at

[ project at Library of Congress is reviewed at
