Hi John del Carlo [040911 MMDigest] -- The Grotrian-Steinweg Ampico
to which you refer was built in 1927 (a Model A).  I saw and heard
it about 35 years ago and it was very fine.  It is illustrated in 
the 1970 British book, "Player-Piano", by Arthur Ord-Hume.
