Seek Pianocorder Vorsetzer
By Isaac Oleg

Dear sirs, I am a piano technician and rebuilder, and for some
time I am looking for a Vorsetzer, not only for fun, but also because
it may allow me to exercise new hammers before final voicing when
I repair a piano.

Today I had a phone call from a recording studio who wish to find
a Vorsetzer because a customer of theirs owns tapes recorded on a
Marantz Pianocorder in the 1970's and they want to have them played
back and recorded.

Short of finding a Vorsetzer, I think I have heard of possible
linkages to use any of the actual player actions, like Disklavier
or PianoDisc. I'd like to understand what are the possibilities [to
play Pianocorder music on other systems]. I already understand that
the Pianocorder tape player has to run faster than usual. Is this
equipment available, is there a way to transfer the tapes or have
them read to be played on another system ?

Thanks in advance for your enlightenment. Incidentally, I am in
France; I have no particular contact with player piano specialists
here but I believe there are indeed some.

With best regards,
