Visiting Nationaal Museum in Utrecht
By Hans van Oost

I am really glad to read that Jeffrey Borinsky liked the Nationaal
Museum in Utrecht (050105 MMDigest). He is right in his conclusion
that, like in all other museums I know of, the guided tour is made
for the general public and the museum guide does not necessarily
have more knowledge about the collection than just a bit more than
necessary for the job.

If any of you would like to visit the collection in more detail
I would suggest that you make an appointment in advance, either by
telephone of E-mail. The best day to visit the museum this way is
on Monday, when it is closed to the general public. The experts are
usually very enthusiastic to show you everything you find particularly
interesting and, in most cases, they won't even charge you admission!

Kind regards and a happy New Year from Holland,

Hans van Oost, webmaster KDV
