Hi All,  About a year ago, I posted a question on MMD about
a roll-changer fitted to a Philipps Pianella Model C in my
collection.  The question asked whether the pneumatic/electric
roll selection system fitted to my unit was rare or not.
Unfortunately, no replies were forthcoming.

Reading the MMD archives, John Rutoskey wrote a fairly detailed
description of the Wurlitzer changer in 2001.11.04.  In this, he
mentioned an external knob fitted to the carousell shaft which
enabled the user to select a particular roll manually.

In my unit, this knob is replaced by a switching system which,
by collapsing a pneumatic, causes unselected rolls (from 1 to 4)
to be bypassed automatically without the threading cycle engaging.
When a selected roll arrives in the "play" position, the threading
cycle starts and the roll is played.  Roll selection is accomplished
by 5 roll-specific terminals and a common terminal.  Connection of
the common to any (or all) of the other 5 terminals causes the
relevant roll to be selected and therefor played.

I have read absolutely nothing about such an accessory in the
normal sources (web, Bowers' books, Vestal Press etc).  Please,
can anyone shed light on it?
