In the 50 or more years that I tuned pianos and worked on players,
other than the usual coins I found:

1. several bottles of whiskey, stored by an alcoholic;
2. a dead rat;
3. guns, most likely hidden for safekeeping;
4. my favorite screw driver that had been missing for five years;
5. candy;
6. condoms hidden by a red-faced teenager (I assured him I would
   keep his secret).

7. Worst of all: a mother cat decided to have a litter of kittens
under the cover and on top of the bass strings of an Ampico grand.
(The customer complained of odd-sounding bass notes.)

8. The most dangerous: A 100-watt light bulb that had burned a hole
in the side of a church piano.  Someone thought it would be a great
idea to drive the dampness from the piano.
