Internet Auction Bidding War
By Tom Hutchinson

Fellow MMDers, I lost an eBay auction this evening. Not that that's
too unusual but it's the massive amount by which I lost that has me
totally mystified.

The auction was titled, Coinola Piano Pianola Music Book Memorabilia,
item number 7306654829. This consisted of four modern reprints,
and yes, the listing clearly stated that these were modern reprints.
I was interested specifically in two of them, one of which contained
information on the Coinola and the Reproduco and another which
concerned the operation of the QRS Playasax all of which I own.

I placed a bid that was, I thought, so absurdly high that there was
no possibility I could lose. I do my bidding through a blind bidding
service. However, surprise, surprise! Someone topped me by a factor
of almost four times and these four modern reprints of flyers brought
$180.50!

Am I missing something? I'm still interested in obtaining those
two specific items so if anyone knows the source I would appreciate
learning where they can be obtained.

Thanks in advance,
Tom Hutchinson
