Adding Pipes to Orchestrion
By Charlie Morgan

I have a no-name O-roll orchestrion. I want to add 24 organ pipes in
addition to the 24-note glockenspiel. How would you all recommend that
I incorporate that pipes into my current setup? Here are some options
I have thought of:

1. User manually switch between glock or pipes (nothing automatically
switches).

2. Glock and pipes both play together at the same time.

3. Multiplex the glock and pipes so that sometimes pipes are on,
sometimes glock is on, never both together.

If using multiplex would you recommend the multiplex unit switch
between glock or pipes only _between_ songs, or would it sound okay
to switch _during_ a song? (That would seem weird to me, I think.)

What has everyone's experience been with this? I know some machines
were actually made with both glock and pipes. How do those machines
handle both?

Thanks!
Charlie Morgan
