New Versus Old Materials
By Don Teach

I am restoring a piano that was restored with nylon pneumatic cloth. I
was offered this piano about eighteen years ago when it was unrestored,
but I didn't take it. It was restored by someone in the interim, a
person I would really like to find!

I am re-restoring it now. It is missing a couple of parts. The nylon
cloth did not hold up and has numerous holes. The stack was glued
together with some type of non-soluble glue and needed to be remade.
The stack pneumatics had very poor hinges. These have failed.

Needless to say, I am one who really appreciates the restorer that uses
traditional materials. The piano is a Wurlitzer Race Horse Pianino. If
any one can tell me who restored it some time in the past eighteen ears,
I would appreciate hearing from you.
