Seek Oscillator Modules for Electronic Band Organ
By Vic Searle

I have had more than twenty inquiries about my 1986 book on building
electronic band organs, and I plan to rewrite it and hope to get it
published again.

I had planned the organs to use Devtronix electronic circuits, but as
the company which bought the Devtronix technical stuff has finally bit
the dust, I am trying to find new sources for small Hartley oscillators.
In one of the MMD Archives, I remember someone who had built a large
organ using these oscillators as independent tone generators. If he,
or anyone else knows where I might locate these, I'd greatly appreciate
hearing about them.

For those interested, but allergic to electronics, the book's cabinetry
can be used to take pipes up to a certain extent. I'll be happy to
advise on this idea.

[ Devtronix' engineer and owner Ray Devault advocated individual
[ oscillators for each "pipe", rather than the cheaper but common
[ system of a master oscillator and frequency dividers. He said
[ the "free phase" sound of individual oscillators gives a better
[ simulation of a real pipe organ. -- Robbie
