Greetings,  All pumps are both suckers and blowers.  A fluid is
transferred from the inlet to the outlet.  In pedaling a player,
you are both sucking and also discharging air so either sucking
or blowing is incomplete in describing the function of the pump.

The term pumping is the most accurate as it favors neither end of
the process but refers to the process itself.
