The date given for the auction of the B&B Carousell, posted on the
MMD on 19 August, was incorrect.  The date given was Aug. 15th, but
the actual auction date is Wednesday, August 10th, at 2:OO P.M. at
the carousel site at Surf Avenue at West 12th St.

Many groups have been working hard to save this historic carousel and
organ from being broken up.  Letters have been written to the mayor's
office, as well as getting news coverage by the local TV stations.

The owner of the carousel, James McCullough, has resisted attempts to
have his carousel designated a heritage landmark.  With so little time
left, it is indeed an uphill battle.
