Old Book Music for an Unidentified Instrument
By Bjorn Isebaert

Hi! Recently, I acquired eleven old cardboard music books from an
antique dealer. They seem to be rather old, and they have been played
quite a lot, judging from the damage to some bridges between the holes.
I have no idea for what instrument they were made.

I put some information and pictures on
  http://users.skynet.be/fa580362/fotos/oldbooks.htm

I thought about a Piano Melodico, until I was able to remove some of
the paper that covered the original labels. The original labels don't
seem to mention any manufacturer, but the weird thing is that they do
contain Russian titles, and Russian stamps. See two examples at
  http://users.skynet.be/fa580362/oldbookslabels.htm

Apparently, there must have been a repertoire catalogue somewhere,
judging from the fact that the books contain numbers. Any help would
be appreciated!

Many thanks in advance, and best wishes from Belgium,
Björn Isebaert
