I remember at some rally, twenty-some years ago, a fellow (perhaps from
Oklahoma?) who had added a set of bar bells to his Wurlitzer 145 organ.
I was particularly interested in his organ because it was a twin of
mine, described by the factory as a special built "145 with dual roll
frames, without bells".  He had placed the bells horizontal, unlike the
factory placement.  As I recall, he said he had no problem tuning the
pipes up to standard pitch to match the Deagan chimes.

I also recall at a rally in Jefferson, Texas, an attempt to re-tune
a Wurlitzer (146?) up to standard pitch in the shop of the late Cliff
Gray.  One of the bass trombones had to be sawed off an inch or so
shorter to make it speak properly.  I was not sure this was the thing
to do, so I kept the sawed off piece in my pocket so it could be
re-glued on if necessary.  The pipe spoke well after being shortened.
