Seek Better Piano Sound from Computer
By Terry Smythe

I would like to know if it is possible to add additional sound fonts to
my computer. My motherboard is a T-Force with on-board AC'97 (ALC655)
sound. I do not have an audio card.

I would like to add better quality piano sound fonts. Is this possible
with this on-board sound system? If so, a URL description would be
appreciated. Or, am I faced with the need to acquire a PCI soundcard?
If so, recommendations?

[ The Realtek ALC655 audio CODEC doesn't support sound fonts; see

[ Noteur Rich Olsen and I use vintage "Sound Blaster Live!" sound cards,
[ Creative part no. CT4620, available used for $10-$25. The *.sf2 sound
[ fonts are stored in system RAM; the card works well under Win98 and
