Controlling Rewind Speed of Electrified Player
By Tom Sendall

Hello -- Yes, I do run my player piano with an Electrolux vacuum
motor. The current goes through a variable-speed control, but even
with it turned all the way down the reroll speed is quite high.

I wonder whether I could power the motor on reroll by a separate
circuit (through a double-throw switch) that would go via a resistor
or voltage reducer, running the motor at about one-quarter speed.

If I knew where I could get such a device, I could wire it in.
I'd guess the motor is about 1/5 horsepower and it is protected by
a 6-amp fuse. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.
