Composition by Duo-Art Artist Josef Hofmann
By Adam G. Ramet

Dear MMDers, Here's a recent chance sheet music discovery I made.
Josef Hofmann (the concert pianist and Duo-Art recording artist)
played here in Brighton at the age of 10 as a child prodigy in 1887.

As part of the concert they gave him a theme to improvise on (this
was quite customary at such events). Someone at the concert notated
down a general idea of how this all sounded -- just an impression,
not note accurate or anything like that, as there was no recording
technology in 1887 that was used.

The result was published and I turned up a copy. If nothing else it
makes a very nice Victorian piano piece. I've scanned it and if anyone
would like a copy to play just email me and I'll be happy to email you
a copy.

With kind regards,
Adam Ramet

P.S. For those of you who can't play, a MIDI file and possibly a piano
roll will follow in due course!
