"I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream"
By Mark Forer

[ Ref. 070225 MMDigest and subsequent

Sorry I'm so late to the fair on this thread, but if you go here
http://redhotjazz.com/hreserbands.html and scroll down to the two
tunes highlighted in yellow and listen-in on your RealPlayer, you
get to hear the definitive versions of "I Scream, You Scream, We all
Scream for Ice Cream", sung by the immortal Tom Stacks with Harry
Reser's Six Jumping Jacks and Harry Reser's Syncopators.

For those of you still uninitiated with the group(s) even after
several postings of mine, now's the time. Harry Reser was arguably
the world's greatest banjoist, and his novelty groups were the hottest
of hot dance bands of the 1920s in capturing the pure essence of
Tin Pan alley material. In addition, it goes without saying that
Tom Stacks, "the man with a grin in his voice," was to a vocal what
John Held, Jr., was to a flapper [illustration].

And, while you're at it, spend endless hours listening to the
plethora of tunes on the Reser play list at the site and solve the
mystery of how all the other elusive song lyrics that have been
puzzling you for decades sound. Like hip flasks and football games,
Harry Reser and automatic music just go together!

Have Fun!
Mark Forer
