Book: Sydney Grew, "The Art of the Player Piano"
By Adam G. Ramet

I've scanned onto my web site Sydney Grew's 1922 book all about
playing the pianola, "The Art of the Player Piano", and put a few
chapters from Part 1 there in their entirety. You will be pleased
to learn that there will be no more from this book whatsoever.

The book's second part is generally regarded as utterly unreadable
for it explains in 200 pages the principles of iambus, trochee,
dactyl and anapast rhythmic musical metre theory -- thrilling stuff,
but only if you can't sleep, have no friends, no other books to hand
and you fancy deliberately inducing yourself a headache for fun.

The previous articles (Wolfenden, Kobbe, etc.) can still be accessed
via links at the foot of the texts pages.

Sincerely,
Adam G. Ramet
